The Extranalities Collective chose the Ai tool as the ‘material’ to confront, research, debate, challenge and to make jewellery artifacts from. Some relished this challenge of the unknown, while others feared its implications. But like a smell in a room, it
couldn’t be ignored! Now was the time to hold their noses and/or smell the roses, as they tackled the thorny subject of Ai. With jewellery as their only method, medium and/or weapon, the nine jewellers of Extranalities, in collaboration with their invited ‘joker’, the great Ai itself, conspired to produce jewellery that exists to ask the question of whether Ai is our servant, or our ruler. Or perhaps, just a passing stranger……

„My Creative Struggle with ChatGPT”
“When I began using ChatGPT for my project, I was fascinated by the visual results. It was thrilling to see my prompts turned into images. But over time, I noticed a stylistic sameness in the output—no matter how I phrased things, the aesthetics felt limited and repetitive.
Instead of expanding my creativity, the AI began to feel constraining. Its predictability unsettled me and threatened to blur my artistic voice. I realized I didn’t want my work shaped by an algorithm.
Still, one idea lingered: to give physical form to my struggle. I started carving, folding, and digitizing drawings—turning resistance into a creative method.
Over a year, I developed my “hearts”: abstract symbols of confrontation, dialogue, and inner conflict. Arms, legs, and fists entwine in motion and tension.
In the end, ChatGPT didn’t inspire me—it provoked me. And in that challenge, I found new strength to follow my own path.”

SPACES OF THE ANIMALS
Within our project SPACES OF THE ANIMALS at Raumklasse in the summer semester 2024 we will explore human-animal relationships and how these are addressed and manifested through spatial structures and material realities. As early as the 19th century, humans became increasingly alienated from animals due to the rise of capitalism and later in modernity. We want to tell these stories of animals and humans through spatial expression – of living together, of mythologies and fables, but also of the exploitation, subjugation and ultimately the liberation of animals.

]]>For the centrepiece of these necklaces,
I assembled various pieces of jewellery and objects regardless of value; old and new, family heirlooms and flea market finds.
By casting the objects in resin I am able to share
what is precious to me. And through the process the
different pieces become one, the memories become
connected and the values become equal.
All pieces are hand-crafted in small-scale series
in Berlin, Germany.
Seeing things with new eyes, turning them around, turning things on their head, and seeing what happens – questioning the old and familiar and the boundaries between precious and non-precious. I am interested in transformation.
